Visibility
On-Page SEO
Titles, headings, copy, images and internal links reworked so each page is unmistakably about one thing.
What usually goes wrong
On-page work gets treated as filling in fields. The fields are the easy part: the real question is whether a page is unmistakably about one thing, and most pages are vaguely about four.
You would notice
- Titles that are the same shape on every page
- Headings used for sizing rather than structure
- A page that mentions five services and ranks for none
- Descriptions Google rewrites every time
The work
On-Page SEO, line by line.
Each line is work that gets done and can be checked afterwards. None of it is a promise about where you will rank — nobody can honestly make that one.
- 01Titles and descriptions written to fit, measured in pixels
- 02Heading structure that describes the page rather than decorating it
- 03Copy edited so each page is unmistakably about one thing
- 04Image alt text where it carries meaning, left empty where it does not
- 05Internal links from the body, not only from the nav
In practice
Measured, not counted
Before Home | Best Plumbing Services, Boilers, Heating & More
608 px -> cut in results, and about four things
After Emergency Plumber in Sheridan, WY | Example Plumbing
446 px -> fits, and about one thing
40 narrow characters measure 222 px.
40 wide characters measure 666 px.
"Keep it under 60 characters" is wrong in both directions. Google truncates by rendered width, so a character count is wrong in both directions. Try it yourself in the SERP Snippet Preview.
Questions
Asked often enough to answer here.
Is on-page still worth doing?
It is the cheapest work with the most reliable effect. It is also the work most sites have never actually done, as opposed to installed a plugin for.
How many keywords per page?
One primary idea, and the variations that naturally belong to it. A page that targets five terms usually wins none of them.
Do meta descriptions affect ranking?
Not directly. They affect whether anyone clicks, which is worth more than the distinction suggests.

Work that usually travels with it.
- Keyword Research & StrategyThe terms your customers actually type, sorted by what you can realistically win, and mapped to the page that should own each one.
- SEO Content StrategyWhat to write, in what order, and which existing pages to merge or retire instead of writing more.
- Local SEOGoogle Business Profile, local landing pages, citations and review signals for businesses that sell inside a map, not a market.
- E-commerce SEOCategory and product pages, faceted navigation, out-of-stock handling and the duplication that every store platform creates by default.
